Position Overview:

The Lead Java Solutions Architect is tasked with managing program architecture, development processes, unit testing, debugging, documentation, and quality assurance evaluations. This role involves guiding, directing, and supervising other technical team members.

The Lead Java Solutions Architect will be responsible for reporting any residual issues, completing all change management procedures, including change control boards, and obtaining necessary approvals before deploying releases into production environments.


Additionally, the Lead Java Solutions Architect shall ensure the updating of all release-related documentation, which includes, but is not limited to, the following: Process Description Document (PDD), Consolidated Configuration Document, System Security Plan, User Manual, Operations & Maintenance Manual, Training Plan and Scripts, Requirements Traceability Document, and configured application specifications.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance from the start of employment
  • This role requires on-site presence in Washington, D.C. – remote work is not an option
  • Experience working within Agile/SAFe development teams
  • Familiarity with IBM Maximo 7.x application configuration and support (e.g., Maximo Integration Framework, Java, and BIRT report writing)
  • Assisting the team with application, interface, workflow, reporting, and data integrity challenges
  • Support and enhance existing Maximo integration components between applications, including Java and SQL
  • Provide production support for mobile applications by analyzing daily user feedback to swiftly resolve issues, minimizing business impact
  • Assist with stakeholder training sessions on mobile application demonstrations as required
  • Ability to clearly document technical specifications for Maximo 7.x


Candidates must have a minimum of seven (7) years of software development experience with practical expertise in the specific programming languages and technologies necessary for customizing Java Classes and Objects in Maximo.

A minimum of five (5) years of experience with Maximo is also required.
