Job Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential member of the healthcare team, reporting directly to the Nursing Director. This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive nursing care tailored to the specific needs of patients in the Special Care Department. The RN will ensure that all nursing practices align with the established standards and regulations set forth by the Nursing Service Department and relevant professional organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Maintain accountability for the safety and quality of nursing care provided.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to the highest standards of nursing practice and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience: Prior experience in Medical Surgical nursing is required; experience in ICU/CCU is preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
- Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
- ACLS certification is required.
