We are looking for a professional with expertise in unmanned underwater vehicle systems (including both remotely operated and autonomous vehicles), as well as proficiency in machine learning and artificial intelligence to support a research team in innovating solutions for existing UUVs and exploring new capabilities.

As a Senior Engineer, you will work collaboratively with a team of researchers on UUV designs, architectures, testing, and development processes.

Essential Qualifications and Skills include:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline, coupled with 2-4 years of experience in unmanned underwater vehicle systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the capability to secure a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical UUV operations, covering mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, sensors, and controls.
  • Expertise in UUV design, modification, testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, and operational procedures.
  • Experience in underwater environment data collection utilizing custom or third-party sensor systems.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing UUV tests and evaluations aimed at model and simulation development and validation.
  • Capability to prepare research reports, technical proposals, formal presentations, and interpret data effectively.
  • Proficient in using the MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously or within a diverse team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with U.S. Navy UUVs or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with the Naval Autonomy Test System (NATS), NATS Integrated Management System (NIMS), and/or Virtual Maritime Autonomy Test Environment (VMATE).
  • Experience in developing or utilizing Tactical Awareness Kit (TAK) applications.
  • Background in developing and conducting testing for digital twin environments.
  • Experience in surveying underwater environments and collecting relevant data for testing purposes.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
