About the Role:

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a resource for information and direction, responding to urgent and emergent situations.
  • Performs patrol functions and security checks throughout the campus, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals.
  • Reports, investigates, and documents incidents, providing critical information to support our safety and security efforts.
  • Controls internal and external traffic, enforcing rules and regulations to maintain a safe and orderly facility.

Requirements:

  • 8 and 16 hour New York State Security Guard Certification and Licensure.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Hospital Security, with a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to investigate, report, and document incidents, as well as traverse the campus to complete security checks and respond to urgent/emergent situations.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's Degree strongly desired.
  • F-89 or T-89 certification highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Lifting moderate weight of up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:

Pay Range - Minimum: USD $30.30/Hr.

Pay Range - Maximum: USD $31.42/Hr.
