Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Compunnel. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients with a wide range of pulmonary conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and administer medically prescribed respiratory therapy to restore patient's pulmonary function and alleviate pain
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests, assess and interpret evaluations and test results, and determine respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians
  • Administer inhalants, operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators to support patient care
  • Direct treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants, and evaluate the effects of respiratory therapy treatment plans by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress
  • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers, and contribute to patient care conferences
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs and instructing patients, families, and caregivers
  • Recommend and/or provide assistive equipment and outpatient or home health follow-up programs
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, and maintain patient confidence and protect hospital operations by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Develop respiratory therapy staff by providing information and developing and conducting in-service training programs
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • GA state license required
  • Must be willing to float, every other weekend required, and will be expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if needed
  • RCP required
  • NBRC required
  • BLS and ACLS required
