Position Overview
This role is designed for post-graduate training within a structured pharmacy residency program, guided by experienced clinical pharmacists and pharmacy personnel. The resident will engage in delivering clinical services to patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals on medication utilization and cost management, in addition to providing pharmaceutical distribution services.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and cost-saving initiatives, continuously seeking opportunities for enhancement.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to established policies, procedures, and standards while managing resources effectively, including time and supplies.
- Support personal and professional development by fulfilling continuing education requirements and competency standards, contributing to departmental objectives that align with organizational success.
- Conduct clinical research aimed at assessing the clinical and economic outcomes of medications and treatment regimens.
- Facilitate educational programs for pharmacy staff and assist in the development of training for medical and nursing personnel.
- Act as a resource for pharmacy staff, physicians, and nursing teams.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of utilization reviews focusing on high-cost, potentially harmful, or misused medications.
- Uphold safety for patients, staff, and visitors by complying with all organizational policies and standards, while managing resources effectively.
- Encourage professional growth by meeting educational and competency requirements, serving as a mentor and resource for less experienced colleagues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate and personalized care to every community member, embodying Memorial Hermann's service standards by delivering safe, caring, and efficient experiences.
