Role Summary
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team at our headquarters. This role is essential in supporting the financial operations of our organization and will report directly to the Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate will leverage their accounting expertise to enhance our processes and ensure accuracy in our financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end closing tasks for assigned accounts in a timely manner.
- Prepare and document journal entries accurately.
- Conduct thorough analyses to identify discrepancies and assess financial trends.
- Assist in the consolidation of financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts and compile necessary documentation to substantiate account balances.
- Facilitate documentation and communication for external audits.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new and existing processes, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Engage in special projects and reporting as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in an inventory-driven business is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with accounting software.
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Willingness to innovate and implement changes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- This position is based at our corporate headquarters.
