Job Summary

Midstate Radiology Associates is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at our Vernon Imaging Location. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform diagnostic MRI scanning procedures, selecting the correct technique and utilizing patient assessment to produce high-quality images.
  2. Participate in complex invasive MRI exams, assisting radiologists in performing procedures and producing images for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
  3. Start intravenous sites, assess existing sites, and inject contrast according to established protocols to support radiologists in diagnosis.
  4. Maintain MRI equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use and reporting any issues to supervisors.
  5. Demonstrate yearly competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to conduct examinations and meet patient needs.
  6. Assess physician orders and patient requisitions for completeness, reviewing relevant information to ensure correct procedures and protocols are followed.
  7. Document patient and exam information, storing computerized images for future reference or retrieval.
  8. Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, setting up films and accurately inputting data in the RIS system.
  9. Perform and document weekly quality assurance testing on equipment to maintain high performance.
  10. Work effectively as a team member, communicating and collaborating with colleagues to provide quality service.
  11. Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining understanding of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • CT state license.
  • CPR certification may be required.
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience as a radiological technologist.
  • Associate's or Applied Science degree in a related field.
