Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Maintenance Specialist

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team as a Maintenance Specialist. This role will be responsible for providing technical support to troubleshoot and solve problems impacting equipment reliability, identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, and managing work order management throughout the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot and solve problems impacting equipment reliability
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and execute plans to implement changes
  • Manage work order management throughout the site
  • Provide technical direction to site craftsmen and contractors on equipment issues and repair
  • Communicate directly with procurement assistance regarding parts required and inventory levels needed to complete scheduled work orders and PM orders
  • Perform maintenance-related projects to support continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain computerized maintenance management systems
  • Assist in maintaining storeroom inventory to ensure accuracy and meet service goals
  • Liaise between internal customers, vendors, and contractors to achieve job tasks
  • Identify and prioritize multiple projects and work streams
  • Prepare reports, metrics, and other tracking tools
  • Ensure department documentation and record-keeping is in good order
  • Share job knowledge and experience with site personnel to develop, train, and enhance the skill set of all team members
  • Proactively perform systems lifecycle assessments to identify obsolete equipment and recommend suitable replacements
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Ability to perform across mechanical and electrical fields
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in an industrial setting
  • Ability to effectively work as an individual contributor and/or as part of a diverse team
  • Working knowledge and ability to research and implement ISO and applicable government and professional standards
Physical Requirements:
  • Adaptability
  • Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, reaching above shoulder level, and kneeling while reviewing work in the field
  • Frequent climbing of stairs and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
  • Employees will spend time: standing 30%, walking 30%, sitting 40%
