Job Description

Pinnacle Behavioral Healthcare, LLC. specializes in the treatment of adults with mental health disorders in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to providers in the delivery of timely, quality patient healthcare services in a clinic environment.
  • Collect patient information and data, provide patient care, and communicate with patients and care team members.
  • Return calls to patients regarding side effects of medications, refill medication requests to area pharmacies, and call insurance companies for verification on medications, forms and any necessary authorizations for medications.
  • Assist providers with procedures.

Other duties include:

  • Taking calls for lab results, triaging incoming lab results, medical reports, refill requests, etc., to MD/CNS/PA in a timely fashion to completion.
  • Performs Prior Authorization, administers injections, provides patient care support as delegated by Provider.
  • Administers therapies, including medications, scheduling follow-up visits (and prior authorization), or other support unique to a specialty provider.
  • Provides patient care pre/post-encounter or procedure, preventative or other health information.
  • Collaborates with Provider and team on improving and managing quality goals.
  • Coordinates communication of medical information and confirms information with patients when necessary and documents per practice policy and standards.
  • Assists in the collection, labeling, and processing of specimens timely/accurately.
  • Assists physician with procedures including preparation of medication as required/needed.
  • Provides outbound calls to patients to follow up as directed which may include notifying patients of test results.
  • Wholly and accurately charts information in the patient medical record.
  • May checkout and schedule follow-up visits with the provider or appropriate staff before patient leaves.
  • Receives or initiates patient phone calls.
  • Answers phones cordially and professionally in a timely manner.
  • Follows policies and procedures of Pinnacle Behavioral Healthcare, works under the direction of the Office Manager.
  • Maintains legible and organized patient records in accordance with policy of PBHC and requirements of the State of Minnesota.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted nursing license (State of Minnesota) as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Experience with mental health care required.
  • Knowledgeable about psychotropic medications.
  • Computer and tech savvy.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Monitor a patient for medical symptoms, provide medical intervention in an emergency situation, strong communication skills, explain and administer procedures to patients, contribute to a positive work environment, act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public, maintain patient confidentiality, follow established treatment and office procedures, maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details, physically able to walk, stand, stoop, and bend, visual and auditory dexterity.
