Job Overview:

This role involves working closely with General Education Teachers to plan targeted interventions for students with special needs. As a Special Education Learning Specialist, you will diagnose student challenges and design individual programs to meet specific needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach a rigorous college preparatory curriculum combining school standards and New York State standards.
  • Teach students in a high-quality, exciting way that fosters engagement and motivation.
  • Pursue constant professional growth through collaboration with colleagues.
  • Use data-driven approaches to inform instruction and drive student progress.
  • Assess student progress and communicate results to families and colleagues.
  • Provide individual or small group instruction for students requiring additional support.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and 'whatever it takes' spirit to ensure each student's success.
Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills contributing to a collaborative work environment.
  • At least two years of teaching experience (strongly preferred).
  • New York State Special Education teacher certification (highly recommended).
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A passion for teamwork, mission-driven culture, and lifelong learning.
  • Demonstrated success in raising achievement levels of students from underserved communities.
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $70,829 - $142,270 per year, determined by an equitable compensation scale considering experience, certification, and longevity within the KIPP network.

Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, generous time off, up to 12 weeks of parental leave, and employee incentives such as paid sabbatical and tuition reimbursement.
