Senior Interior Installation Specialist at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation
Essential Skills:
***This role is focused on Service Center Interior.*** The candidate must have comprehensive expertise in Gulfstream aircraft interiors along with a solid understanding of relevant Gulfstream protocols and procedures. A minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft interiors is required. The individual should demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills across various departments to meet organizational goals while upholding safety and quality standards. Proven ability to take on leadership roles and responsibilities is essential.
Educational and Experience CriteriaA High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. An FAA A&P license or the ability to secure a repairman certificate within 30 days of employment is necessary. A decade of extensive experience in production, manufacturing, or service centers is required.
Position Objective: To serve as a technical authority on in-service aircraft and execute repairs on installations that demand a high level of precision and promptness. The role requires functioning independently within a team-oriented environment and stepping into leadership roles as needed. Job ResponsibilitiesKey Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute technical tasks including the correct methods for in-service installations, repairs/modifications, and refurbishments.
- Diagnose issues on in-service aircraft to identify root causes and implement preventative measures in collaboration with relevant parties to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Support problem-solving efforts to refine planning methods for in-service aircraft refurbishments and installations by employing standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Engage with Engineering, Product Support Engineering, and Quality Control to resolve issues and implement effective solutions.
- Organize, develop (with the Training Department's assistance), and oversee the Employee Skills Development Program.
- Identify and create training needs for tooling, testing equipment, and other relevant areas.
- Plan, schedule, and complete tasks to align with service and delivery timelines.
- Assist management in supervising and instructing technicians on proper troubleshooting techniques, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance. Aid in evaluating the performance of subordinates.
- Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of team members, leveraging strengths for optimal job performance and providing guidance and growth opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, vendor information, and all procedures, publications, and general knowledge related to product support installations, repairs, and refurbishments.
- Help maintain work schedules and update CMP cards. Review work, including forms and records, to ensure compliance with Gulfstream Repair Station procedures and FAA Airworthiness Standards. Verify daily job charging for accuracy.
- Support Lean initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks assigned to department technicians or leads during their absence, as necessary.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Complete all required documentation, including CMP cards, Travelers, and R&I logs.
- Follow all safety, 6S, and housekeeping policies, utilizing personal protective equipment. Ensure the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP). Assist in developing and implementing related initiatives.
- Conduct repairs on installations that necessitate a high degree of accuracy and promptness.
- Assist in training subordinates on proper techniques, processes, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing and/or repair station procedures and specifications, plant safety, tooling, and quality requirements.
- Demonstrated history of troubleshooting manufacturing or installation processes.
- Proficient knowledge of all necessary machinery and processes to perform the job. Basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language is essential.
