About the Role

The YMCA of Greenville is a dynamic and rapidly growing association that seeks to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

The Member Services Representative is responsible for delivering excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants, responding to member and guest needs, and promoting memberships and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service Delivery: Provide exceptional service to members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention.
  • Sales and Marketing: Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships and programs; provide information about facility and programs to inquiring members.
  • Membership Management: Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Policy Adherence: Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
  • Financial Transactions: Register and receipt monies for memberships and program participants.
  • Technical Skills: Utilize Y computers with skill and proficiency.
  • Independence and Accountability: Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Abuse Risk Management: Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers, attend/complete required abuse risk management training, adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers, and follow mandated reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma.
  • Experience: At least three months or more customer service/public relations experience required.
  • Skills: Must be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to multi-task. Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment. Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills. Excellent communication skills. Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Certifications: Requires CPR/First Aid, Blood Bourne Pathogen, and Child Abuse Prevention training within the first 30 days of employment.
