Nurse - Level I Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinic

Job Summary:
The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Clinic Level I position. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patients, documenting nursing care and reporting symptoms and changes in patients' condition and vital signs.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions, and physician orders.
- Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient's condition.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
- Perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within the scope of practice.
- Administer and maintain accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders.
- Communicate plan of care in a timely manner to patient and family, as well as the appropriate team members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines (i.e. HIPAA).
- Use best practices for transition of patient care.
- Utilize available resources to assist in discharge planning.
- Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and render superior patient care; seek assistance when needed.
- Adapt to changing work demands and environment.
- Operate the appropriate medical equipment.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- No previous experience required
