Overview:
The Mount Sinai Health System is actively seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to enhance its practice at the Institute for Advanced Medicine (IAM) located in Queens.
Position Summary:
This role is centered around delivering primary and preventive healthcare within our multidisciplinary Institute for Advanced Medicine. The selected physician will engage in collaborative healthcare delivery aimed at creating an outstanding patient experience. Our commitment is to ensure the highest quality of patient care and satisfaction.
The physician will focus on providing comprehensive primary care and preventive services specifically tailored for LGBTQ patients, emphasizing HIV prevention and management. Key responsibilities include prescribing and overseeing HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), offering continuous care for individuals living with HIV, and delivering gender-affirming services, including hormone therapy for transgender and gender-diverse patients.
This position is based at an IAM facility in Queens. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare providers and administrative personnel to ensure superior patient care, quality outcomes, and high levels of patient satisfaction. We seek candidates who are passionate about primary care and fully aligned with the mission of the Mount Sinai Health System. Flexibility for potential evening and weekend shifts may be required as the practice evolves. Previous experience in HIV primary care is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide acute and urgent care for emergent conditions, including the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Deliver comprehensive medical services to clinic patients, ensuring quality care.
- Manage patient appointments efficiently, maintaining timely schedules throughout the day.
- Diagnose and implement medical treatment plans.
- Formulate individualized treatment strategies.
- Oversee both short-term and long-term health conditions.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options during consultations.
- Ensure patients understand their diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare providers as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and billing documentation.
- Adhere to ethical medical practices and stay updated on industry standards.
- Communicate any operational issues to administration that may affect practice.
- Exhibit flexibility and adaptability, serving as a role model for staff.
Qualifications:

Compensation ranges from $225,000 to $246,000, excluding bonuses and benefits.
Salary Information:
The Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range in compliance with New York City salary transparency laws. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, specialties, historical productivity, and community needs. The listed salary range applies to full-time positions and does not include bonuses or benefits.
