About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at the Garver YMCA. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Ensure the facility is well-maintained and cleaned, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning assigned areas.
  • Housekeeping: Collect and remove scrap and refuse, clean and sanitize lavatories, showers, wash basins, and replenish supplies as specified.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic repairs and maintain cleaning equipment as directed.
  • Communication: Own communication with the Housekeeping Manager, Facility Director, and other leadership staff and coworkers.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of custodial experience.
  • Skills: Ability to follow instructions, work with chemicals, and operate manual and power equipment.
