Job Summary

Washington Radiology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of our mammography centers, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of mammography technologists, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care and efficient operations.
  • Perform mammography procedures and assist with biopsies as needed, maintaining the highest level of technical expertise and adhering to all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor clinical staffing levels, ensuring adequate coverage and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide excellent patient care, communicating procedures and providing education to new and existing team members.
  • Effectively handle patient complaints, escalating issues as necessary to ensure patient satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Assist with MQSA compliance, tracking and following up on credentials and ensuring all policies and procedures are up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Act as a point of contact for physician offices, responding to requests and providing clinical information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and team member information, adhering to all HIPAA regulations.

Requirements
  • Current, unrestricted licensure in the state of work location.
  • Current ARRT certification in Mammography or eligible to take the advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience.
  • Minimum of two years of healthcare industry experience, preferably in mammography and ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience, preferably in a radiologic technologist or mammography department.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines, with a sense of urgency and follow-through.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain a calm and tactful demeanor in difficult situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with prior experience with RIS/PACS preferred.
