This entry-level Financial Credit Specialist position offers a starting salary of $55,000, along with prospects for personal and professional advancement.

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating credit applications, analyzing financial data, conducting financial assessments, and interpreting credit policies.

Potential Locations:
While we have potential office locations, we are open to considering other locations for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Loan Application Evaluation

Assess the creditworthiness of applicants by:
Creating long-term and/or short-term financial forecasts based on client financial information

Evaluating capital, capacity, collateral, character, and conditions of the applicant

Comparing the applicant's overall financial standing to industry and core lending benchmarks

Identifying potential risks associated with the proposed loan

Reviewing financial documents submitted by the applicant, determining data adequacy, and requesting additional information as necessary

Determining the most effective method to consolidate and utilize financial data for credit recommendations

Drafting credit narratives that summarize the findings of the credit evaluation

Recommending approval or denial of loans along with the structure and conditions to support the recommendation

Collaborating with senior credit personnel for necessary loan approvals

Effectively liaising with market-facing staff to: Understand the operations and credit applications

Request additional information from branch staff, clarifying the necessity of the information

Convey loan decisions and relationship positioning

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field

2+ years of relevant experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the role

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Working knowledge of the agricultural sector and the influence of current events on agricultural operations and credit

General understanding of financial ratios

Familiarity with tax returns, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and similar financial documents

Understanding the relationship between financial statements and operational performance

Ability to listen and convey awareness of a customer's issue to find resolution

Effective oral and written communication skills to exchange information with peers, supervisors, and clients

Proficiency in utilizing Word, Excel, and Outlook to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and client data.
