Nurse Practitioner - PRN

Galen Medical Group is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a PRN capacity. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our physicians to deliver exceptional medical services.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Interpret and integrate medical data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
  • Administer or order, and interpret diagnostic tests as needed for appropriate patient care.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, and managing infections.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in the provision of continuity of care.
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Perform surgical and/or diagnostic procedures in a hospital, office, and/or ambulatory setting under the supervision of a physician.
  • Routinely visit in-patients for the purpose of examination and compilation of data for the physician in attendance, if applicable.
  • Maintain Mid-Level Provider certification, license, and continuing medical education requirements at all times.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Galen clinical policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain professional communication skills between employee, patient, physicians, and other facilities.
  • Make recommendations for any improvements in the operation of the clinical system.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist other personnel in the performance of their duties as assigned and as workload permits.
  • Function as a relief for other personnel in the office as appropriate and to facilitate co-workers' absence in the office.
  • Recognize and demonstrate cost-effective measures in the utilization of supplies, equipment, and other resources.
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality of all company records, including verbal and written records.
  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Manager and Physicians.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant organization.
  • Must have previous experience as Mid-Level Provider in the field of certification (i.e., Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner).
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by a nationally accredited organization.
  • Have an active license in the State of Tennessee as a Mid-Level Provider (i.e., Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner).
  • Nurse Practitioners must have an active RN and APRN license.
  • Must have a DEA number issued by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.
  • Individual must be BLS trained and certified at all times.
  • Must be PC literate.
