Key Responsibilities
  • Manage customer accounts within our POS system (Scrap Dragon), ensuring accurate data entry and regular reviews for duplicates.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including preparing meeting agendas, filing documents, and answering incoming calls with professionalism.
  • Conduct project-based research, such as identifying potential customers and compiling summary reports.
  • Operate the cash register or POS system to accurately process transactions, ensuring correct pricing and promotions while securely handling credit and debit card transactions.
  • Provide a warm welcome to customers, addressing their inquiries and offering information about our recycling services, rates, and procedures.
  • Issue receipts or invoices, maintain precise records of daily cash transactions, and reconcile cash at the end of each shift.
  • Keep the cashier area organized and stocked with necessary supplies, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling, fraud prevention, and customer privacy, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
  • Collaborate with fellow cashiers and team members to ensure efficient operations and assist in training new staff on procedures and customer service standards.
  • Address customer concerns and complaints promptly, escalating unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and organized cashier area, following safety protocols and reporting any hazards.
  • Conduct end-of-day office cleanup, including emptying trash and ensuring the kitchen area is tidy.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in cash handling, preferably in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in operating cash registers or POS systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in cash transactions.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of recycling practices is advantageous.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with office productivity tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
