Position OverviewOBJECTIVE
Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic and vascular imaging procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute ultrasonic diagnostic examinations as prescribed by the attending physician for patients.
- Coordinate patient scheduling.
- Communicate procedures to patients to ensure understanding and optimal test outcomes.
- Position patients appropriately, selecting the suitable transducer based on depth of field and target structure.
- Perform scanning procedures utilizing ultrasound technology, maneuvering the scanner over designated body areas and adjusting equipment for clarity.
- Assist the physician during procedures such as needle biopsies, including patient scanning, body marking, and angle determination for puncture, while adhering to sterile techniques.
- Provide the radiologist with comprehensive patient history for accurate diagnosis.
- Document examinations in the Radiology Information System and PACS.
- Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance standards, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
- Maintain departmental records, reports, and files as necessary.
- Support the upkeep and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure a clean work environment and report any equipment malfunctions to the department director.
- Participate in in-service training and departmental meetings, with a requirement to attend at least 50% of all meetings.
- Be available for on-call duties as required.
- Transmit images to cloud systems as needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Diagnostic Imaging Director.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
- Fulfill other essential duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
- ARDMS certification or eligibility for registry.
- Self-motivated with the ability to adhere to established policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit and stand intermittently for 8 to 10 hours daily.
- Proficient in using standard office equipment, including telephones and computer keyboards.
- Work effectively under pressure, maintaining near 100% accuracy while meeting strict deadlines.
- Utilize manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing continuously.
- Regularly stand, walk, sit, and demonstrate eye/hand coordination and color differentiation.
- Occasionally reach above shoulder height and lift or carry up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally navigate uneven surfaces.
