We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Verification Specialist to join our team at Bank of China Limited, New York Branch. As a key member of our Compliance Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of customer Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) records.
Key Responsibilities- Perform KYC and CDD for natural person (NP) and non-natural person (NNP) profiles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Bank of China's policies and procedures.
- Screen customer information for Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), Adverse Media, and Internal Watchlist at onboarding, refresh, and trigger events.
- Calculate and recalculate customer risk ratings at onboarding, refresh, and trigger events.
- Liaise with Front-Line Units daily to ensure smooth KYC processing and maintain effective working relationships with key business partners.
- Update and maintain the Bank's KYC procedures, reference manuals, and management reporting tools.
- Perform periodic reconciliation of NP and NNP customers' KYC records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Initiate case escalations to the CVT Lead, including unusual or suspicious activity.
- Ensure KYC policy is consistently applied in the Front-Line Units.
- Bachelor's Degree required at the time of hiring.
- Internship experience in BSA/AML/KYC/CIP is preferred.
- Good knowledge and understanding of general OFAC, BSA/AML, and USA PATRIOT Act and risk management principles is preferred.
- CAMS certification is preferred.
As a Customer Verification Specialist at Bank of China Limited, New York Branch, you will have the opportunity to work with a global financial institution and contribute to the development of our Compliance Department. We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $70,000 per year, commensurate with relevant years of experience, skillset, education, and other qualifications.
