Internship Role: Mechanical Engineering Internship
Location: Various Kimberly-Clark facilities
Internship Duration: Summer 2025
Additional Requirements: Candidates must possess the legal right to work in the United States, both presently and in the future.
Internship Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineering intern, you will engage in various phases of project development, including problem analysis, design, installation, and initiation. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting, collaborating with project teams on planning, documentation, and execution of ongoing projects. Interns will gain comprehensive insights into mechanical engineering practices essential for supporting high-speed automated manufacturing processes. Opportunities are available across research facilities, manufacturing sites, and diverse business units.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Producing detailed designs and development solutions.
- Enhancing knowledge and skills related to engineering tasks.
- Ensuring safety and compliance in all job functions.
- Maintaining documentation and security protocols.
- Assisting in the formulation of solutions to assigned challenges.
- Fostering a respectful and collaborative team environment.
Required Technical Skills
- General machine design principles.
- Problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to assimilate and comprehend technical data.
- Proficiency in drafting and design.
- Familiarity with engineering systems, including CAD.
- Effective design communication skills.
- Field experience in relevant areas.
- Understanding of component integration.
- Knowledge of materials and fabrication processes.
- Appreciation for maintenance practices.
- Understanding of systems: mechanical, electrical, and process.
- Familiarity with corporate policies and quality standards.
- Awareness of the roles of other functions within Kimberly-Clark.
- Adherence to Kimberly-Clark design standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 and completion of at least 1.5 years of college coursework.
- Unofficial transcripts are required for the interview.
- Previous co-op experience is advantageous.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
- Co-op/intern positions are not eligible for sponsorship; candidates must be eligible for employment in the U.S. without Kimberly-Clark's sponsorship now or in the future.
