Position Overview

Support the Foreman and skilled tradespeople in executing their assigned tasks under close guidance. This role typically serves as an entry-level opportunity to acquire essential skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Excavate, distribute, and level soil, sand, and gravel utilizing hand tools.
  2. Transport construction materials, tools, and supplies manually.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, materials, and the job site.
  4. Combine and distribute concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
  5. Assemble, wrap, and seal pipe sections.
  6. Carry out various routine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trenches, and connecting pipe segments.
  7. Engage in machine operations such as soil tapping, jackhammering, and assisting in pipe fusion.
  8. Contribute to team efforts aimed at achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
  9. Exemplify leadership qualities by sharing knowledge and skills with others.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  3. Ability to navigate a construction site, which may include minor obstacles, climbing ladders, operating heavy machinery, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds.
  4. Capable of engaging in physically demanding activities of a primarily productive or technical nature.
  5. Manual dexterity sufficient to handle items and work with fingers while perceiving attributes of objects and materials.
  6. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
