RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lab Supervisor is tasked with overseeing a team of technicians while managing the daily operations of the laboratory or designated areas. The supervisor will collaborate with the assigned team to set up, assemble, and execute testing programs for various oilfield completion tools, ensuring compliance with industry standards or engineering specifications. Responsibilities include maintaining testing equipment through scheduled upkeep and ensuring cleanliness in the lab and testing environments. Additionally, the supervisor will provide support to engineering teams as necessary to achieve their testing objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and adhere to Weatherford's enterprise excellence program and quality policy, complying with all requirements outlined in the quality systems manual, operational and technical procedures, and workplace instructions.
  • Manage the testing schedule for assigned test assets, monitor asset utilization, and ensure proper documentation of maintenance performed on test assets and equipment.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies of Weatherford, ensuring the team follows best practices and adheres to all guidelines.
  • Develop and implement innovative processes to enhance team and lab efficiency.
  • Train new and less-experienced personnel in tool and equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure the team maintains equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain an inventory of test parts and equipment.
  • Oversee the operation of testing equipment, including Triplex Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, Flow Systems, Nitrogen Boosters, Hydraulic Pumps, and Forced-Air High-Temperature Heater Systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to the engineering staff regarding testing inquiries and requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the testing facility and on testing equipment as needed.
  • Execute work assignments to the highest quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Education

Required:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Oilfield or HPHT laboratory environments.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., Forklift, Overhead Hoist).
  • Proficiency in using hand tools (e.g., Pipe Wrench, Adjustable Wrench, Screwdriver, Measuring Tape).
Preferred:
  • Experience in High Pressure, High Temperature testing.
  • Familiarity with oilfield completion tool assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of High Pressure testing equipment (pressure systems, fittings, pumps).
  • Experience with digital Data Acquisition Systems.
  • Familiarity with Flow Equipment (Triplex Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, Flow Systems).
  • Experience with High Temperature heating systems.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • SME in assembling test oilfield tools.
  • Proficiency in using basic measuring tools (e.g., Micrometers, Calipers).
Preferred:
  • SME with High Pressure, High Temperature testing.
  • SME in advanced troubleshooting of oilfield tools and pressure systems.
  • SME in data acquisition equipment (e.g., Thermocouples, Pressure Transducers, Linear Transducers, Flow Meters).
  • Advanced experience with all assets tested at SRO test facility.
  • Advanced experience with all product lines tested at SRO facility.
