About the Role

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is a leading healthcare provider in the region, offering a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services to the communities we serve. As a Triage Nurse - GI, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.
  • Collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnoses, and develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care and evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of the outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Carry out specific nursing phone triage for the care of PMC patients under the direction of the physician(s).
  • Answer incoming calls from patients, review patient records, schedule appointments, and use the EMR task function.
  • Document in patient records, provide education to patients, and act as a liaison for patients-directing calls for referrals.
  • Refill prescriptions based on physician practice/policy for refills and understand the precertification process.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, promote and support research activities, and utilize available resources to provide and improve patient care.
  • Participate in department staff meetings and quality improvement team efforts.
Requirements
  • Licensed as RN or LPN in accordance with the North Carolina statutes.
  • CPR certified required within the first 90 days.
  • Two years' experience as a RN or LPN in an outpatient office environment preferred.
Work Environment

This is a day shift position (Monday through Friday) with a competitive hourly rate.
