BJC HealthCare is seeking a skilled Outpatient Coder to join our team. As a PRN certified coder, you will work independently to assign diagnosis, procedure codes, and modifiers for Ambulatory Surgery encounters while adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities- Thoroughly review and analyze patient encounters for compliant coding.
- Accurately assign codes in a timely manner.
- Abstract data elements as required.
- Collaborate with leadership and customers to ensure the integrity of the medical record and coding compliance.
- Stay current on all changes in coding conventions, regulatory guidelines, code updates, and BJC coding guidance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- No experience required, but 2-5 years of experience is preferred.
- Certification in area of expertise.
