About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled ICU Registered Nurse RN to join our team at Solara Specialty Hospitals McAllen. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients with medically complex conditions, general medical-surgical conditions, and rehabilitation and/or wound care needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall direction and supervision of patient care during your shift.
  • Carry out the nursing process when providing patient care, demonstrating knowledge and skill.
  • Satisfy established standards of nursing practice.
  • Supervise and delegate patient care tasks to LVN/LPN or CNA and other patient care team members.
  • Promote teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments.
  • Consider patients' age in the performance of any task.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • A minimum of two years of ICU experience is preferred.
Education and Experience
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Two or more years of ICU experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in good standing by the state of employment.
  • Maintain current ACLS certification throughout employment.
  • ACLS certification is required upon hire.
