- Location: New York
We are actively searching for a proficient and seasoned Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a focus on General Surgery for a locum tenens role in the vicinity of Smithville Flats, NY. This position provides an excellent opportunity for part-time and/or weekend shifts, available from Friday to Sunday, with hours from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. The role allows you to collaborate with a committed surgical team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care.
Position Specifications:
- Specialization: General Surgery
- Shift Details: Hospital-based, part-time and/or weekend shifts
- Weekend Availability: Friday-Sunday, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am
- On Call Duties: As needed
- NCCPA Certification: Mandatory for PAs
- RNFA & FNP Certification: Mandatory for NPs
- New York State License: Required
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in surgical settings (No new graduates)
- Background Check: Must have a clean record
- Local Candidate Preference: Required
- Expertise in Da Vinci Robotics Si and Xi: Required
- Certification Requirements: ACLS, BLS, NCCPA
- Licensing Requirements: New York
- Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am
- Surgical Cases Handled Daily: 3-7
- Electronic Medical Records System: Epic
- Supervising Physician: Available at all times, not on-site
- Operating Rooms Available: 14
- General Surgeons in Practice: 8
- Patient Age Range: 16 and older
- Key Responsibilities: Conduct Pre-Operative Physical Assessments, Suture Removal, Diagnose and Treat Illnesses, Order and Interpret Tests, Assist in Surgical Procedures, Write Prescriptions, Coordinate Patient Care
This role presents an exciting opportunity to work independently in a hospital environment with a focus on general surgery. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in both laparoscopic and open surgical techniques, along with proficiency in Da Vinci Robotics Si and Xi. Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance.
