Key Responsibilities- Quality Assurance and Control: Perform daily quality assurance measurements on linear accelerators, proton radiotherapy systems, and CT scanners, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and departmental protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Participate in the inventory and record-keeping of equipment used for physics quality assurance procedures, and perform routine quality assurance of ancillary devices.
- Patient-Specific Dosimetry: Conduct patient-specific dosimetric measurements, dose calculations, and geometric comparisons for radiation oncology treatments, utilizing various devices such as film, flat panel detectors, ion chambers, and diode arrays.
- Project Support and Collaboration: Participate in developmental and ad hoc projects in collaboration with the physics and dosimetry team, and contribute to writing reports and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Biomedical or Nuclear Engineering, or Applied Sciences.
- Skills and Abilities: Proficient in using computers and standard Microsoft office applications, good communication skills, and specialized training in radiological physics.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of linear accelerators and CT scanners, experience with radiation measurement devices, data analysis techniques, and Python programming skills.
- Physical Demands: Standing occasionally, walking occasionally, sitting constantly, and lifting rarely 20 lbs.
- Travel Requirements: 10% travel.
