Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Childcare Teacher to join our team at Once Upon a Time Schoolhouse in Belleville, WI.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating engaging activities based on child development principles and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example, promoting a collaborative team environment and providing coaching and support to teaching staff.
  • Plan and execute individual and group activities that foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
  • Maintain open communication with parents through regular updates, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Establish a safe and healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities and safety protocols.
  • Manage accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and promote continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Lead teacher certification from the Registry.
  • Strong attendance record.
  • Excellent communication and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work effectively with staff, children, and parents to foster a positive team environment.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles.
  • Must pass a full background check and health screening.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, using hands and fingers, and handling objects.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification, as well as Abusive Head Trauma, SIDS, and Mandated Reporter Trainings.
