Job Summary

The Group Therapist is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the quality of care delivered to patients in our PHP and IOP levels of care. This role involves providing psychotherapy and counseling therapies, including group, individual, and family therapy, to patients struggling with psychiatric and substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients about psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
  2. Participate in the treatment planning process and ensure accurate and timely patient documentation.
  3. Provide family session counseling as needed to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
  4. Support with vital and UDS capture as needed.
  5. Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources, adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines.
  6. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff members.
  7. Effectively communicate with UR on treatment and LOS issues, supporting in UR functions/authorizations/denials as needed.
  8. Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills and assist the care coordination department as requested.
  9. Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel, and standard policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work or counseling and relevant state licensure required.
  • Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients preferred.
  • Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.
  • CPR certification and Handle with Care training during orientation week.

  • Respect confidentiality at all times, following HIPAA guidelines for disclosing information.
  • Treat all patients, visitors, and co-workers with dignity and respect.
