Job Title: Rapid Care (NP or PA)

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Rapid Care team at Potomac Valley Hospital.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, working under the supervision of a physician, and will be responsible for conducting physicals, providing treatment, and counseling patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray and POC lab tests.
  • Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
  • Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Makes diagnosis and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
  • Obtains, compiles, and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes, and results of physical examination utilizing the Meditech EMR.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care and infection management.
  • Prescribes therapy or medication - electronically when available.
  • Educates, instructs, and coordinates activities with the medical assistant(s) as needed during the care and treatment of patients.
  • Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with staff, medical staff, and administration in support of operations.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
  • Basic Life Support Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training at the discretion of the department.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Acute care, surgical, critical care, or trauma experience.
