Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welfare Fraud Investigator to join our team at Solano County. As a key member of our Special Investigations Bureau, you will play a critical role in detecting and preventing welfare fraud, ensuring program integrity, and upholding the trust of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations to verify eligibility for public assistance programs
  • Identify and prevent welfare fraud, theft, and forgery
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to share intelligence and best practices
  • Prepare cases for administrative and/or formal legal action
  • Testify in judicial and non-judicial proceedings
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law Enforcement, Police Science, or a closely related field
  • One year of full-time paid investigative experience in criminal investigations in a government agency
  • Possession of a valid and current P.O.S.T Specialized Investigator Basic Course (SIBC) or California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced Peace Officer Certificate
  • Valid California Driver's License, Class C
