Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Linwood School. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping students with special needs to develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of student skills and develop individualized education plans to address their needs.
  • Deliver targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to students through direct and indirect services.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement student IEPs.
  • Provide adaptive equipment and devices to students as needed, and develop and oversee student sensory protocols and feeding protocols.
  • Stay informed about the latest evidence-based practices in occupational therapy and maintain licensure and certification.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Maryland OT license.
  • Valid certificate from the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists (NBCOT).
  • Experience in special education and pediatrics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The position requires frequent use of hands or fingers, handling or feeling objects, tools, various forms of technology, or controls. The employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, run, or crawl. The employee must also be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
