Job Title: Adjunct Instructor 1

Job Summary:

Ferris State University is seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate courses as part of its Statewide (off-campus) and online programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to teach in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in various disciplines, including business, arts, sciences, education, health professions, and engineering technology.
  • Plan, deliver, and grade course content and student work for assigned courses.
  • Meet established course outcomes and participate in academic functions, such as reporting student participation data and submitting final grades.
  • Demonstrate understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the discipline of instruction, typically with a master's degree and 18 graduate-level credits in the discipline.
  • Three years of professional work experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Varies based on the defined qualifications for the course.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience at the college level.
