Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Lexington Premier Nursing & Rehab, a leading skilled nursing facility in Kentucky.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents.

This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment. The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our diverse resident population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in residents.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.
  • Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and their families.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in KY.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year.
