Nurse Special Care Unit Position

Job Summary
This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora and Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical care to meet the needs of the whole person.
The Med Surg RN is responsible for the delivery of nursing care to the general medical/surgical populations utilizing the nursing process. Special populations include vascular, wound care, GI, and ophthalmology surgeries. Oversees and directs the care of LPN's and assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification required from AHA or ARC.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN Preferred.
- One-year experience in acute care preferred.
