Job Summary

As a LPN Charge Nurse at CHSGa, you will be responsible for directing nursing care for patients and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This role requires strong clinical leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

⁠ ⁠Operate oxygen equipment, including turning off and on, changing cylinder heads, cleaning/replacing humidifier, and other necessary tasks.
⁠ ⁠Operate suction machines, including cleaning, selecting appropriate suction catheters, and storing equipment.
⁠ ⁠Use manual respirators and locate emergency equipment supplies, including boxes and crash carts.
⁠ ⁠Operate whirlpool scales and glucose monitoring devices, calibrate, and clean as necessary.
⁠ ⁠Deliver medications, including setting up, rotating, charting, ordering, and giving to patients.
⁠ ⁠Receive drugs from the pharmacy in accordance with established procedures.
⁠ ⁠Determine Advance Directive status for patients and collect lab specimens, interpreting results as needed.
⁠ ⁠Implement and administer IV medications, including seizure precautions and administration during seizures.
⁠ ⁠Admit, discharge, and transfer patients as requested, documenting and billing supplies used.
⁠ ⁠Maintain effective communication with attending physicians and assist the Director of Nursing Services in coordinating care planning and committee meetings.
⁠ ⁠Participate in patient screening and selection processes as requested and assist in follow-up on consultant recommendations.

Requirements

⁠ ⁠Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or graduate of an approved LPN program.
⁠ ⁠Proficient in using a computer, especially Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
⁠ ⁠Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills, with effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
⁠ ⁠Ability to communicate well with other associates, patients, family members, and visitors, providing a warm and friendly greeting and approachable attitude.

Benefits

CHSGa offers a competitive salary range of $25 to $29.20, with shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Management add-on pay and weekly pay are also available.
