Role Summary

This position involves specialized clinical duties related to Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It is an entry-level role for MRI Technologists, necessitating proficiency in conducting fundamental MRI examinations.

This role primarily covers night shifts and will not include scheduled weekends unless the night shift personnel are on leave. There is no on-call requirement for weeknights and weekends.

The Clinical Radiology Department at Maine Medical Center provides a career advancement framework across all modalities. Positions are initially posted at a level I, and based on qualifications, new hires may be considered for higher levels with an appropriate salary adjustment. Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Comprehensive understanding of Magnetic Resonance technology, procedures, and safety protocols, as well as anatomy and physiology, acquired through completion of an accredited MRI Technology program.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Eligibility for MRI certification by the ARRT. Current BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum qualifications include demonstrated proficiency in MR imaging through clinical training as part of an accredited MRI Technology program. Preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of experience as an MRI Technologist in a hospital environment. Experience in a large hospital setting is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Analytical skills to determine optimal imaging techniques based on patient condition and pathology, adhering to established protocols.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate MR procedures to patients, alleviating concerns and fostering cooperation. Must possess effective communication skills with radiologists.
    • Adaptability to perform and adjust to varying work environments and equipment.
