Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at AdventHealth DeLand. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient's medical program goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and monitor the nutritional status of hospitalized patients, taking into account cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans for nutrition intervention in accordance with the patient's medical program goals and objectives, nutrition prescription, and self-management training.
  • Obtain timely and appropriate data, analyze and interpret it based on evidence-based standards, and identify educational needs.
  • Provide current, hospital-approved nutrition education that is sensitive to the patient's learning needs, condition, readiness to learn, literacy, hearing language, and age.
  • Assess educational needs and provide nutrition counseling for individuals and groups.
  • Attend department meetings and remain up-to-date with department activities, communications, and changes.
Requirements
  • Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Florida Department of Health dietitian/nutritionist license
  • Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or related area required
  • One year experience in acute care setting preferred
