KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in projects primarily for governmental entities, including the Department of Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Participate in investigations and remediation efforts at sites designated by federal authorities, addressing both hazardous waste and munitions under relevant regulations.
  • Support operation and maintenance (O&M) and long-term monitoring (LTM) for remediation systems.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a scientific field, such as:
  • Geosciences (including geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, and geotechnical engineering).
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, remediation, or a related discipline.
  • Field sampling expertise in groundwater, soil, sediment, and air.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining remediation systems (e.g., pump and treat systems, leachate management).
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and their operation.
  • Proficient in report writing that adheres to regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of federal and state regulatory frameworks.
  • Possess key personal attributes such as:
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Self-driven and efficient.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training and 8-Hour Refresher training as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a HAZWOPER medical examination and drug screening.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with the operation of remediation systems and long-term monitoring.
  • Knowledge of asbestos inspection and reporting processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state regulations.
  • Familiarity with chemistry and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) related to environmental analyses.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or GIS software.
  • Professional registration or the ability to obtain such credentials (e.g., PG, CHMM).
