Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tractor Trailer Operator to join our team at MacAllister Machinery Co Inc.

This is a full-time position based in Southfield, MI, with an estimated salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

The primary duty of this position includes the safe and courteous loading, unloading, and delivery of equipment to customer sites within Indiana and surrounding states.

You will be responsible for performing safety checks on trucks and equipment, reporting to dispatch for delivery/pick-up assignments, and delivering equipment to customer sites in a safe and timely manner.

  • Perform routine safety inspections on vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct thorough pre-delivery checks to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Deliver and pick up equipment according to customer specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups
Responsibilities

As a Tractor Trailer Operator, you will:

  • Ensure all equipment is properly secured during transport
  • Notify the shop lead or service manager and sales coordinator of any damaged equipment
  • Contact the sales coordinator after each delivery
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of company vehicles and equipment
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and industry standards
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Class A CDL with a valid driver's license
  • At least 2 years of experience hauling heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with the delivery area and ability to read maps
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A high school education with some technical training
