Job Summary

Ryder is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician in Charge to join our team in Rutland, VT. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for assisting and training technicians, providing exceptional customer service, and overseeing various shop operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and train technicians as needed to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to daily customers, responding to their needs and concerns
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to the Service Manager for appraisal or disciplinary purposes
  • Oversee parts distribution and inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and management
  • Manage shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, and payroll administration
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
  • Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
  • Thorough understanding of unit utilization procedures
