Safety and Security Manager

The State of Montana is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Safety Supervisor to join our team at the Montana State Hospital.
About the Role:
The Shift Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the overall safety and security of staff and patients at the Forensic Mental Health Facility. This includes supervising and coordinating the work of Forensic Mental Health Technicians to ensure adherence to established safety and security standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective safety and security protocols to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment.
- Supervise and train Forensic Mental Health Technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to safety and security.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure a coordinated response in the event of an emergency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education or a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, safety, criminal justice, mental health, education, communication, emergency management, healthcare, or a related field.
- Two years of related experience where security functions played a critical role in performing job duties.
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
