This role involves collaborating with the transition teacher and other providers to coordinate and execute evidence-based job coaching strategies that enhance work potential and maximize employability skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to lesson planning and preparation, internships, and other learning experiences
  • Assist students in engaging with learning activities and completing assignments
  • Facilitate pre-designed lessons and activities in class or community settings
  • Model workplace skills and job tasks in simulated or real-world settings
  • Use inventories, checklists, and assessments to identify student learning styles, interests, and needs
  • Transport students to and from work sites
  • Work with supervisors and employees to ensure mutual understanding of expectations
  • Coach and supervise students in workplace behaviors, job tasks, and safety awareness
  • Develop tools and resources to facilitate skill application and maximize performance
  • Employ a gradual release of responsibility framework to foster independence
  • Contribute to independent living skills that contribute to work readiness
  • Monitor, assess, report, and reflect on student progress
  • Complete mandatory documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with stakeholders
  • Promote the program by providing details and information about its purpose, process, and benefits
  • Collaborate with home school providers and arrange VR-TSW meetings
  • Attend trainings, meetings, and professional learning activities
Requirements
  • Regular high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Current Arizona Driver's License
  • Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • At least 1-year experience working with youth between the ages of 14-22
Working Conditions
  • Will be required to drive a district van or AV bus to transport students
  • Will be required to take/pass an online driving class and be approved for insurability
  • May be required to lift and carry heavy supplies/materials
  • May be required to assist with daily living skills and transfer of students with mobility limitations
