Join our 9 Tower Surgical Unit, which features:
- Bed Capacity: 36 beds
- Staffing: 40 RNs, including 8 bedside RNs per shift
- Shift Composition: 8 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Manager, 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator
Shift Information:
- Type: Night Shift (19:00-07:00)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Equipment: Bariatric fitted ADLs, Wound Vacs, Drains, Lifts, EMR (Meditech)
Key Qualifications:
We seek candidates with strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience in post-operative surgical areas such as vascular, bariatric, urology, and general surgery is preferred.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of post-operative surgical sites
- Wound care, including packing and dressing changes
- Foley Catheter care and continuous bladder irrigation
- Ostomy appliance management
- Nasogastric Tube insertion and suction
- Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) administration
- Blood transfusions and central line care
- Conducting bedside shift reports
