Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team at Community Action Corporation of South Texas. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging learning experiences that promote the intellectual, emotional, and physical development of young children.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Lesson Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to individualized needs, incorporating research-based curricula and best practices in early childhood education.
  2. Teaching and Learning: Utilize effective teaching methods to promote positive outcomes, leveraging child assessment data and developmentally appropriate learning experiences to drive instruction.
  3. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, education, health, nutrition, mental health, transition, and parent-family engagement, as well as perform screenings and assessments within designated timeframes.
  4. Communication and Collaboration: Conduct regular home visits and parent-teacher conferences, fostering open communication with parents and families to ensure their active involvement in their child's education.
  5. Classroom Management: Establish a safe and healthy learning environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all children, and maintaining a developmentally appropriate setting for each child.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience and/or teaching in a Head Start preschool setting is advantageous.
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) is a plus.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a background check and an annual physical examination.
