Job Summary

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a highly skilled System Security Engineering (SSE) Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and management of the cybersecurity scope. You will lead the analysis of issues that directly affect the system, ensuring a security-conscious approach to resolving complex programs. Your ability to convince leadership that the proposed solution is best for the mission, considering program cost and schedule as well as the technical solution, is crucial. You will work with the program and customer in the maintenance and acquisition of Risk Management Framework ATOs, support tech refresh and system upgrades, and provide strategic input and planning for the system, applications, architecture, and design in a dynamic environment. You will assist in the tracking of key roadmaps and deliverables alongside program management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement proper cybersecurity controls to ensure the security and integrity of our systems.
  • Interact with customers to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness.
  • Maintain a Risk Management Framework Authorization to Operate for the system.
  • Support developing plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting, and risk identification and mitigation plans.
  • Plan and guide SSE implementations in customer systems.
  • Consult and assist program line management with SSE architectures and issues.
  • Define security development and test efforts, implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software components.
  • Integrate cybersecurity development activities.
  • Develop top-level system requirements and flow down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystems.
  • Understand and comply with DoD technology release and export licensing policies.
  • Expected to travel 1 week quarterly (~10%).
Work Location and Position Type

Work will be conducted primarily in New Hampshire, with some travel required. This is an onsite position.

Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity Engineering.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain additional program access as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Usage of information security toolsets including anti-virus, Vulnerability Assessment, HIDS/NIDS, host-based or endpoint security solutions, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and centralized auditing tools familiarity with Splunk is preferred.
  • Linux Bash scripting and Python scripting experience.
  • Security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software S/W operating system and application solutions in both a stand-alone and in LAN/WAN configurations.
  • DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g. Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies.
  • Experience with IT and/or network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for UNIX, MS Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and CISCO systems.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.
  • Familiar with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37.
  • Experience with Python scripting and Linux Bash.
  • Familiar with Program Protection Plan (PPP) required by DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39.
  • Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer subject matter expert.
