About the Role

The Evening Residence Worker - Supportive Care Specialist will provide direct assistance, support, and care to clients residing in the facility under the general direction of the Operations Coordinator I.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with an orientation of the facility services, protocols, and policies upon arrival.
  • Support clients with the check-in process, monitoring behavior and overall well-being.
  • Utilize the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise Systems (CARES) to complete Intake Check-in, Discharge Conditional Intake.
  • Conduct hourly rounds of the facility to ensure all room doors are secured and clients' personal belongings are secured.
  • Advocate for the client's needs, making referrals to and collaborating with appropriate resources.
  • Observe clients in day-to-day routines: maintain informal contact and develop informal opportunities to assist when needed.
  • Report and document incidents.
  • Bag and tag client personal belongings where needed and report room cleaning and repair needs to the Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
  • One year of experience working with at-risk people who have complex needs in a similar working environment.
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Willingness to obtain a CPR Certification and/or Food Protection Certificate while employed with Samaritan Daytop Village.
